Next-Gen Ranger Wheels – Wandering Aus

By John Smith

Wandering Aus Adventures: A Legacy of Australian Exploration

Jess and Mitch from Wandering Aus, are one of Australia’s most authentic overlanders, dedicating their platforms to off-road travel, storytelling and life beyond the blacktop. Known for their deep respect for the bush and genuine approach to remote travel, Jess and Mitch embody the spirit of exploration that has shaped Australian four-wheel-driving culture for generations.

Mitch’s connection to Australian exploration runs deep. His grandfather, Len Beadell, was a pioneering surveyor for the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) in Salisbury, South Australia, the now home of CSA Wheels, and the man responsible for charting the legendary Woomera Rocket Range. Armed with little more than a theodolite and a Land Rover, Len went on to survey vast networks of roads across central Australia — tracks that many modern adventurers still travel today.

That family history has directly influenced Jess and Mitch’s approach to touring and vehicle setup. Early on, CSA steel wheels were the natural choice, born from bush lore and remote-area tradition, the age-old Steel vs. Alloy wheel debate runs strong. Today, Mitch and Jess have partnered up with CSA Wheels to challenge assumptions and share real-world insights into the strength, performance and reliability of modern off-road alloy wheels, in contrast to the CSA steel wheels they have used for tens of thousands of miles.

The Wandering Aus Ford Ranger is now fitted with a set of CSA Kinetic alloy Next-Gen Ranger wheels and ready to explore the past, present and future of Australian off-road travel — one track at a time.

But Wait, There’s More…
